Hi, I’m Brittany! I’m a community herbalist, writer, and creative.
When I grow up, I want to be a tree. I love collaborating with plants to find a greater sense of well-being and as supportive friends to lean on in times of transition.
I’m a teacher and a writer with an MFA in Fiction Writing in NYC, but I’ve always been an herbalist, too. I’ve been DIY-ing my health and beauty routine and guzzling herbal teas since I was a kid. Some of my earliest memories involve Little House on the Prairie fantasies I tried to bring to life, such as goading my grandpa into helping me make homemade applesauce and picking pea-sized wild strawberries from my parents’ backyard. My friend and I even had a bug hospital where we applied experimental dandelion treatments to severed earthworms found in the driveway.
A few years ago, a series of magical events opened up herbalism as a path and I’ve been following the breadcrumbs ever since. I created entangled herbs as an experiment in weaving together my creative self with the part of me that is still standing in the dirt holding a handful of severed earthworms.
PS - I’m still a writer, but herbalism is in the driver’s seat during this leg of the road trip. You can find some of my stories here, here, and here.
